Two men are in custody after a bullet ripped through an apartment suite wall in Fairfield Park Sunday afternoon.

Winnipeg police said they were called to an apartment building on Barnes Street just before 12:30 p.m. after a complaint of a gunshot that had been fired through the apartment’s wall.

Police said they figured out the bullet came from a neighbour’s suite, in which they found “multiple rounds of ammunition and cocaine … in plain sight.” Police found two handguns, one of them loaded, ammo, about 5.5 grams of cocaine worth about $440, a scale, gang paraphernalia and about $16,000 cash.

Devaughn William Francis Lavalee, 37, and Harvey James Cook, 37, face a litany of weapons, ammunition and drug trafficking charges, say police.
