The Winnipeg Sea Bears have named Rhéanne Marcoux as team president, effective June 1, 2026.

Marcoux has been serving as the organization’s chief brand and experience officer since January 2026, and previously worked with the Sea Bears as an external consultant and staff mentor. Owner and chair David Asper will remain in his current roles, including as the team’s director on the Canadian Elite Basketball League Board.

Marcoux brings extensive professional sports experience to the role, most notably an 11-year tenure with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, where she rose through the marketing department to become vice-president, marketing and communications.

“When I came on board, I saw an organization with incredible potential and a fan base that was ready for more,” said Marcoux, in a release.

“Over the past several months, we’ve been building new foundations — new systems, new processes and a new way of working together. There’s a lot of building left to do, but we are so fortunate to have a fantastic staff and I’m excited to continue to grow the Sea Bears organization together.”

As president, she will oversee all business operations, brand strategy, revenue, marketing, ticketing, partnerships, fan experience, and community engagement.

The Sea Bears are back in action tonight at Canada Life Centre against the visiting Niagara River Lions. Tickets for the 7 p.m. tip-off are available through Ticketmaster.
