A vacant house in the 500 block of Sherbrook Street was heavily damaged by fire early Sunday morning, with crews spending nearly three hours battling the blaze.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to the scene at 6:30 a.m. and arrived to find heavy smoke and flames pouring from the structure. Firefighters cycled between offensive and defensive strategies as conditions shifted, and deployed an aerial ladder to attack the fire from above.
