A 30-year-old man has been charged after nearly two dozen vehicles had their windshields and windows smashed on Furby Street early Wednesday.
Officers were flagged down around 6:30 a.m. and told of the damage in the 600 block of Furby Street, though the suspect had already fled the scene. Police spoke with several victims and obtained home video surveillance showing a male suspect using a chain to damage the vehicles.
Around 9:20 a.m., officers located a man matching the suspect’s description at Rupert Avenue and Main Street. He was arrested and found in possession of a chain, police said.
Phillip Charles Hastings has been charged with 22 counts of mischief under $5,000 and other offences. He was detained in custody.
