One person was transported to hospital in unstable condition following a fire in a Winnipeg high-rise apartment building early Sunday morning.
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to the 500 block of Elgin Avenue at around 4:30 a.m. after a fire broke out in the high-rise building.
Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the building. Firefighters got the fire under control by 5:17 a.m.
Paramedics assessed two patients at the scene. One was transported to hospital in unstable condition.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and no damage estimates are currently available.
