The semi-truck driver, a 32-year-old man, and his passenger, a 28-year-old man, were treated for minor, non-life-threatening injuries at the scene.
Earlier that day, at 2 p.m., Headingley RCMP responded to a collision involving two semi-trucks in the westbound lane of Highway 1, near Road 11 West, in the RM of Cartier. Police said a parked semi-truck was struck by another semi-truck travelling west, catching fire on impact, while the striking vehicle was heavily damaged.
The driver of the parked semi-truck, a 56-year-old woman from La Broquerie, wasn’t injured. The driver of the other semi-truck, a 43-year-old man from Winnipeg, was treated for minor, non-life-threatening injuries, while his passenger, a 27-year-old man from Winnipeg, wasn’t injured. The 43-year-old driver was served with a provincial offence notice for driving carelessly.
