Winnipeg police have charged a man two months after a fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damage at a Sutton Avenue housing complex in July.

Officers responded to the complex in the 300 block of Sutton Avenue just after 2:30 p.m. on July 15 for a report of a fire. No injuries were reported.

Investigators determined the fire was deliberately set by a tenant, who then left the area. The major crimes unit took over the investigation and identified a suspect.

Joshua Angelo Hourie, 41, was arrested without incident on Tuesday and has been charged with two counts of arson with disregard for human life. He remains in custody.
