A man wanted on multiple warrants for firearms and assault-related offences has been arrested after being found with a loaded handgun on Lipton Street.

Winnipeg police say the Manitoba Integrated Violent Offender Apprehension Unit had been actively searching for the man, who was on Manitoba’s most wanted list.

Police said he attended a residence in the downtown area on March 3, where he allegedly threatened, assaulted and robbed a woman at gunpoint in a domestic-related incident. A warrant was issued after he couldn’t be located.

On July 3, the accused allegedly pulled out a loaded firearm and waved it at other occupants during a social gathering in the southwest area of the city before fleeing. A second warrant was issued after that incident.

Officers arrested the man on Wednesday in the 400 block of Lipton Street. Police say he was found in possession of a loaded Glock handgun.

Benjamyn John Beaulieu, 21, has been charged with multiple offences and remains in custody.
