Great news for motorists who use the Jubilee Overpass during their daily commute — it’s re-opening to traffic at the end of September.
The $8.5 million rehabilitation project has caused traffic headaches ever since the overpass closed on May 2 for repairs.
The city originally said the overpass would re-open by mid-September, but the extent of deterioration was discovered to be greater than initially expected, extending the original completion date.
By Thursday, September 30, the overpass will be in full operation and will include a new concrete safety guard rail.
The repairs to the 41-year-old structure will extend its service life by up to 50 years.
