Winnipeg city councillors will tour the city’s downtown area this morning as part of an initiative organized by the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ.
The tour will begin at City Hall at 9:30 a.m. and eventually end up at the Avenue Building on Portage Avenue.
The roughly 50-minute tour will be an opportunity for councillors to participate in an open discussion about the downtown area and the role of the Downtown BIZ.
“During the tour, the Downtown BIZ will have the opportunity to engage and get input from city councillors about their vision for our downtown, in relation to the needs of their neighbourhood residents whom they represent,” the BIZ’s executive director Stefano Grande said. “Community consultation and a tour of the downtown area will hopefully synergize our collective efforts into making the downtown area an even more vibrant and positive community to live, play, and participate.”
