The Downtown Winnipeg BIZ is promoting three events today to engage the public in talking about transportation.
The first is the Sustainable Public Transit Conference, where leading civic officials, visionaries, and practitioners will discuss public transit. The conference will run from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Fort Garry Hotel.
The Downtown Transportation Forum will open dialogue with experienced urban planners to discuss the promotion of urban transit as key to the prosperity of Winnipeg. The forum will run from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Rooms 305-306 at the Manitoba Hydro Building, 360 Portage Avenue. Refreshments will be provided.
Finally, an open house on Winnipeg’s Transportation Master Plan will show the public how the city plans to improve multi-modal transportation choices, accommodate goods movement, integrate transportation and land use, support accessibility and universal design, and manage transportation infrastructure assets. The open house will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Carol Shields Auditorium at the Millennium Library, 251 Donald Street.
