A 32-year-old woman is facing theft charges after money went missing from the bank accounts of the Portage Minor Soccer Association.

Portage la Prairie RCMP were alerted of the alleged theft December 1 and began investigating. Police say an undisclosed amount of money had been taken without the proper consent.

As a result, Tannis Brown of Portage is facing 32 counts of fraud under $5,000. She was released on a promise to appear in court on December 19.

Police are continuing to investigate.
