RCMP in Portage la Prairie have made two separate drug busts over the holidays, leading to the arrest of three people.

The first incident occurred on December 23 at about noon. RCMP were investigating a report a man had breached conditions of an undertaking, when they were led to the Days Inn hotel. Once there, police found 49 grams of cocaine with a street value of approximately $3,920. Police also located an undisclosed amount of cash and a prohibited weapon.

Cody Catcheway, 20, of Portage la Prairie is facing drug and weapons charges. He was scheduled to appear in Winnipeg court on Wednesday.

Then at 8 p.m. the same day, RCMP executed a search warrant on a home in the 600 block of Spruce Bay North. Police located 286 grams of marijuana with a street value of approximately $4,300, as well as a stolen 12-gauge shotgun.

Benjamin Hobson, 28, and Julie Mousseau, 30, both of Portage la Prairie, face drug and weapons charges. Both will appear in Portage court on February 6, 2012.
