The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce will host a Manitoba BOLD Education Forum this morning, featuring two keynote speakers from the education community.

Manitoba’s Advanced Education Minister Erin Selby will deliver the keynote breakfast address at the Fort Garry Hotel shortly after 8 a.m. In addition, Scott Haldane, president and CEO of YMCA Canada and chair of the National Panel on First Nation Elementary and Secondary Education for Students on Reserve, will deliver the keynote luncheon address at 12:25 p.m.

“Over the past year the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce has met with hundreds of members of the business community to get their opinions on what they believe needs to be done to increase prosperity for all Manitobans,” said Chamber president and CEO Dave Angus. “A key element to the future success of Manitoba BOLD is ensuring that we are educating and training young people to meet the demands of a Manitoba BOLD inspired economy.”

The Manitoba BOLD Education Forum will focus on identifying bold ideas in the areas of early childhood education, K-12, aboriginal education, post-secondary education and workplace training and adult education.
