Winnipeg’s James Richardson International Airport is adding several new tenants to better serve travellers.

At its annual general meeting Wednesday, Winnipeg Airports Authority CEO Barry Rempel announced 7-Eleven, Harvey’s and Petro-Canada would be added to the airport’s campus.

The convenience store/gas station combination will be located on Wellington Avenue near the airport’s entrance and should open by October.

Fast food chain Harvey’s — which held a spot in the airport’s old terminal — will be located in the new terminal before security. The restaurant will occupy a space across from Liquor Mart Express on the arrivals level.

“We’re all looking forward to the chicken burgers,” the WAA’s public relations team playfully tweeted following the meeting.

The chain will be serving up burgers in the airport by late summer.
