The Assiniboine Park Conservancy is clarifying its photography fee policy after a story published Wednesday by the CBC.

Park officials say the $150 fee for professional photography inside the park has long been in place. A letter that went out to photographers last week was simply a reminder of the policy, which from 2006-2010 was $100/hour before an increase in 2011 due to a high level of service and management reservations.

The fees are to reserve space and avoid a potential scheduling conflict at preferred locations, including the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden, the Formal Gardens, and the Conservatory.

Fees for booking other public city spaces are available online.
