Winnipeg Police Pull Body from Red River

A body was pulled from the Red River Friday morning just south of the north Perimeter Highway bridge.

Winnipeg police said in a press release that officers responded at about 10 a.m. to the east side of the river after receiving the report.

Police aren’t expected to release further details today, but say the investigation is in its early stages.

UPDATE: Tuesday, June 19 — The body has been identified as a female, but no name has been released. An autopsy has been completed and there are no signs of foul play.
