The forecast looks favourable for Bike to Work Day on Friday, as cyclists use pedal power as their mode of transportation for their daily commute.
The day encourages commuters to ditch their vehicles and bike to work/school as a way of reducing the impact on the environment and to lead a healthier lifestyle.
Cyclists will have access to several pit stops along the way, where healthy snacks and water refill stations will be provided. One of those stops will be at the corner of Assiniboine Avenue and Main Street between 6:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., sponsored by the North West Company and Giant Tiger.
CAA Manitoba will also be extending its Bike Assist service to non-members for one day only (6 a.m. to midnight). Any cyclist whose bike breaks down and needs a lift to work, school or home can call (204) 262-6111.
