Health Minister Theresa Oswald (CHRISD.CA FILE)
Manitoba Health Minister Theresa Oswald rolled up her sleeves today after being recruited to donate blood.
Oswald was recruited by a Canadian Blood Services volunteer and University of Manitoba student. Graeme Fortlage is part of the Assignment Saving Lives program, where more than 100 Manitoba students can win an academic bursary for their recruiting efforts.
Between now and September 1, Canadian Blood Services needs to collect roughly 9,000 donations and currently more than 6,000 appointments are still available. Call 1-888-2-DONATE (1-888-236-6283) or visit Blood.ca to book an appointment.
Oswald donated blood at the Winnipeg blood donor clinic during the noon hour.
