‘Shoreline Cleanup’ Sets Sights on Winnipeg Park

September 13, 2012 8:07 AM | News

Teams of Coca-Cola employees on a mission to clean up Canada’s shorelines will do their part in Winnipeg next week.

It may not be a shoreline, but Notre Dame East Park will get some care on September 20. Staff will clean up the park at 9:30 a.m. and haul away litter and other debris in the area.

“We look forward to rolling up our sleeves in support of these cross-Canada cleanups,” said John Guarino, president of Coca-Cola Refreshments Canada, in a release. “Coast-to-coast, over 40 Coca-Cola facilities will be joining community efforts to clean up Canada’s shorelines.”

The efforts are part of the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, a grassroots conservation program that aims to promote understanding and education about shoreline conservation issues by engaging Canadians to rehabilitate shoreline areas through cleanups.
