The Target Road Trip caravan pulls into Winnipeg tonight at Red River Exhibition Park beginning at 6 p.m. (HANDOUT)

In anticipation for Target’s Canadian debut in 2013, the U.S.-based retailer has embarked on a cross-country tour to help spread the word.

Winnipeg-area residents will be treated to a holiday event to remember when the Target Road Trip caravan pulls into Red River Exhibition Park tonight.

Target will offer complimentary entry into Canad Inns Winter Wonderland, with more than one million lights in 26 different themes. The chain will also offer visitors complimentary entry to the outdoor skating rink in the park and the opportunity to meet Winnipeg Jets captain Andrew Ladd and hockey legend Dennis Hull, who will be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs.

The festivities will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Update: Bobby Hull was previously scheduled to attend, but due to a scheduling conflict can no longer make it.
