The first full-service Liquor Mart in Winkler will open in December.

After being a dry community and eventually seeing liquor licenses creep into sports and gaming establishments, Winkler will see Manitoba’s 52nd MLCC location.

“Over the years, we have had numerous requests from Winkler residents urging us to open a Liquor Mart location within the city,” said Roman Zubach, vice-president of liquor operations. “Currently, Winkler residents must drive approximately 14 km to Morden to shop at a Liquor Mart, which is quite a distance, especially in the winter months.”

The 6,000-square-foot store will be built next to the Real Canadian Superstore at 1st Street and Cargill Road.
