A five-kilometre obstacle course through the snow won’t be an easy task, but adrenaline-seekers are up for the challenge.
The Ice Donkey Winter Adventure on Sunday, February 10 will see teams conquer the snowy, icy terrain on a customized course on the University of Manitoba’s Fort Garry campus. From the organizers who put on the Dirty Donkey Mud Run last summer, participants will run, slide, crawl and dig through a series of obstacles on the former Southwood Golf Course.
Participants will take off in heats every 30 minutes to pit themselves against the course with competitors running solo or in teams of any size.
“We’re taking the normal 5K winter run, and throwing in fun and challenging obstacles and participants will truly remember what it feels to be a kid again,” said race director John Ford.
Teams or individuals wanting to get involved have until February 8 at 11:59 p.m. CT to sign up. The cost is $65 per racer at SwampDonkeyar.com/ice-donkey.
