A 59-year-old Inglis man was killed Sunday after his motorcycle crossed into oncoming traffic on Highway 16.
RCMP say the man’s 2007 Harley Davidson was travelling northbound just south of Binscarth, Manitoba at around 5:30 p.m. According to police, the motorcycle collided with a 1997 Dodge Ram pickup truck towing a camper trailer travelling southbound.
The 58-year-old Edmonton man driving the pickup truck swerved to avoid the motorcycle and went into the ditch. The motorcycle hit side of the camper trailer before both the truck and trailer ignited in flames.
The truck driver and his 53-year-old female passenger, also from Edmonton, were able to escape the truck before it and the trailer were completely destroyed by fire. They were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time. His name isn’t being released.
Police are continuing to investigate.
