Central Plains RCMP are warning about a financial scam that could dupe unsuspecting citizens.
Police say potential victims receive a letter in the mail advising them that they could inherit a large sum of cash. The letter encourages the recipient to contact the sender via e-mail or phone to get further information.
People who receive the latter should keep their personal information protected and refrain from providing credit card, banking or any other personal information over the phone or via e-mail, RCMP say.
