Girl, 14, Stabbed in Norway House

RCMP Crest LogoA 14-year-old girl was stabbed in Norway House on Tuesday and sent to hospital.

The assault occurred shortly after 1 p.m. near the Helen Betty Osborne Ininiw Education and Resource Centre.

RCMP say the victim was stabbed by a 15-year-old boy. Both youths are students at the school.

The girl was treated and released from hospital.

Police have since charged the boy with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes, and carrying a concealed weapon. He remains in custody and will appear in Thompson court on October 7.
