Two People Hurt in Crash Near South Beach Casino

October 2, 2013 8:00 AM | News

RCMP Crest LogoTwo people were sent to hospital Tuesday after a crash on Highway 59 near South Beach Casino.

The crash happened at around 1 p.m. when three vehicles collided. RCMP say a pickup truck hit a car travelling south on Highway 59, which then struck a southbound van.

The elderly woman driving the car was taken to hospital in stable condition, along with the elderly man driving the pickup, who was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Two other people inside the van were not hurt.

RCMP say it appears the southbound pickup failed to stop at a red light. Alcohol is not considered a factor in the collision.

Police continue to investigate.
