An interactive art display will project virtual balls on the side of the University of Winnipeg’s Buhler Centre Halloween night.
The university teamed up with Winnipeg company PO-MO to place sensors on the Portage Avenue sidewalk to detect motion and control the billiard-size balls above street level.
From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, pedestrians can interact with the balls — projected from atop the Rice building — as they wrap around the building’s physical features, such as its iconic “fins.”
The display is a test as part of an initiative into advanced technology and learning, with the goal to create smarter classrooms and intelligent buildings.
