Siloam Mission, 300 Princess Street (HANDOUT)
Siloam Mission is in need of more toy donations for its annual toy store.
The number of children registered to receive toys this Christmas has jumped to 273 from 160 last year.
“With so high a demand this year, we need more toy and cash donations than ever to make sure folks have gifts for their loved ones, regardless of their means,” said Floyd Perras, executive director of Siloam Mission. “Many people have family out there and want to make Christmas special. They are trying to rebuild family relationships. The act of giving these gifts help to mend broken ties.”
The toy store is open during the holiday season for low-income individuals and families to be able to give gifts to their young loved ones.
New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at 300 Princess Street. Cash donations can be made in-person, at Siloam.ca or by calling (204) 956-4344.
