A fundraiser luncheon during Juno Week will support a program that helps keep music alive in schools across Canada.
MusiCounts will benefit from the event on Wednesday, March 26, as organized by the Winnipeg Juno host committee, Downtown Winnipeg Biz and Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce.
“For Juno Award host cities, there is a substantial economic impact that benefits local industry and businesses,” said Melanie Berry, president and CEO of CARAS/Juno Awards and MusiCounts. “It also translates into our dedication to leaving behind a legacy by supporting local music education programs through our charity, MusiCounts.”
The charity has awarded $475,000 to music programs in Manitoba, which includes $230,000 in support of 18 different music programs in Winnipeg.
The public lunch will be held at the Metropolitan Entertainment Centre, 281 Donald Street, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 each and can be purchased at Winnipeg-Chamber.com.
