A 71-year-old man from Richer, Manitoba is facing impaired driving charges after being pulled over on Wednesday.
Steinbach RCMP received a complaint about the alleged drunk driver just before 1:30 p.m.
The man was pulled over a short time later on Highway 302 in the RM of Ste. Anne. Police say the man and his male passenger, 79, were extremely intoxicated. A breathalyzer test showed the driver to be nearly three times the legal limit.
The man was released on a promise to appear in court on June 26.
Additional charges may be laid due to open liquor being found in the vehicle.
