The first in a series of all-ages poetry slams will begin July 7 at the West End Cultural Centre.
Feature poet for the evening will be Saskatoon’s Ahmad Majid. A clever lyricist with a mind for social justice, Ahmad is a three-time slam team member, and a finalist at last year’s Canadian Festival of Spoken Word.
The slam series offers opportunities to practice, perform and enjoy the artistic experiences that the poetry community has to offer.
Tickets are $12 at the door or $8 in advance through the WECC, Ticketmaster, Music Trader, and Winnipeg Folk Festival Music Store.
