A new spa in south Winnipeg has an official opening date.
Thermea will open its doors to the public on January 15, 2015 after two years of construction. The spa is operated by the Nordik Group and is located on the Crescent Drive Golf Course.
“We are proud to open in Winnipeg, because the region has so many interesting and unique tourist attractions,” said Daniel Gingras, Nordik Group co-owner and VP of marketing. “We believe that in addition to providing another distinctive tourism experience, the spa will also contribute to the well-being of local residents.”
The $11 million spa will offer thermotherapy facilities such as outdoor baths (hot, cold and temperate), unique saunas, and numerous indoor and outdoor relaxation areas. The cost per guest is promoted as less than $50 each.
The development was originally announced in October 2011 under the name Nordik Spa-Nature.
