Drive-Thru Boot Drive Supporting United Way

United Way WinnipegWinter boots and cash donations will be rounded up on Wednesday as the United Way hosts its Drive-Thru Boot Drive for Koats for Kids.

From 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., motorists can drive in and out of United Way’s parking lot at 580 Main and quickly drop off their donation.

“The weather has now turned cold and kids are back in school. We want them to stay safe and warm,” said GenNext Council vice-chair Jane Helbrecht.

“A drive-thru is a fun and easy way for generous Winnipeggers to show they care, and as far as we know it’s never been done before!”

With the arrival of Syrian refugees in Winnipeg lately, many requests have come in for winter outwear, which the United Way is working to meet the demand.

The Koats for Kids program provides a full set of winter gear to children in need, including boots.
