Siloam MissionSiloam Mission has been chosen as the recipient of funds raised at the 2016 Sunova Golf Classic.

The tournament will take place Friday, June 12 at the Selkirk Golf and Country Club.

“Siloam Mission is an incredible organization, and we’re thrilled to be able to support them in their work,” said Ed Bergen, president and CEO of Sunova Credit Union.

The tournament raises approximately $25,000 for a community organization, charity, or not-for-profit group annually.

Siloam Mission was chosen from 24 organizations submitted from across the province. The five finalists were selected on March 7, and had short videos shared with the public for voting.

The four other competition finalists were The Teulon Cross Country Ski Club, Anxiety Disorders Association of Manitoba (ADAM), Our Lady of Victory School, Children’s Rehabilitation Foundation, and Manitoba Riding for the Disabled.

Last year’s tournament raised $26,000 for Manitoba Underdogs Rescue for the purchase of a rescue vehicle to transport injured and homeless animals.
