The NDP government would invest nearly $4.5 million into the Gimli, Manitoba area if re-elected.

During an announcement in the town on Thursday, leader Greg Selinger said his party would spend $450,000 on Viking Park and improving Gimli Beach with new accessible washrooms.

Selinger also said $4 million would go to the RM of Gimli to build a new community multiplex and make significant upgrades to Highways 8 and 9.

During a separate announcement earlier in the day, Selinger said $175,000 would be invested into the St. Laurent Arena.
