CIBC and RBC clients can now use Apple Pay wherever contactless payments are accepted.
Visa, MasterCard and Interac debit cards can be added to compatible Apple devices to start paying for everyday purchases with your phone wherever contactless payments are accepted.
“Being able to do more everyday banking through a mobile device is now essential to client experience, which is why we are focused on delivering innovations like Apple Pay to our clients,” said David Williamson with CBC.
The transactions can be made with smartphones for purchases valued at $100 or less.
ATB Financial and Canadian Tire Financial Services are also offering the service, but only with credit cards for now.
Bank of Montreal, Toronto-Dominion Bank and Bank of Nova Scotia will all follow in the months ahead.
