The mascot for the 2017 Canada Summer Games has a name.
Niibin was submitted by Grade 3 student Taylor Schepp from St. Emile Catholic School in Winnipeg.
Niibin means “it’s summer” in Anishinaabe.
The mascot will be the face of the Games’ campaign, as created by McKim Communications Group.
Niibin will be out in the community, visiting schools and attending all Games milestones celebrations leading up to next summer’s event.
