Fresh off her bronze medal performance at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, soccer star and Winnipeg native Desiree Scott will hold her third annual soccer camp in support of KidSport Winnipeg.

“We are back for the third year running and coming home and doing this event is something I truly look forward to,” said Scott.

The 29-year-old says the camp gives her the opportunity to work hands-on in the community with kids who are so excited about the national women’s team.

“I want all the participants to have an absolute blast while getting to experience a fun day of high performance training.”

The camp is for girls aged 8-18 years old and takes place October 29-30. Registration is open to the public.

“Watching Desiree and her teammates compete in Rio was thrilling and this camp is a tremendous opportunity for girls to learn from Winnipeg’s own two-time Olympic bronze medalist,” said KidSport Winnipeg chair Matt Erhard.

Registration for the Desiree Scott Soccer Camp can be found at kidsportcanada.ca/winnipeg.
