Girl, 9, Approached While Walking Dog on Grant Avenue

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police are warning the public after a nine-year-old girl was approached by a man on September 7 while walking in the 1100 block of Grant Avenue.

The suspect pulled up alongside the girl as she was walking her dog and said, “Come look at my dog.”

The girl ran home unharmed and her parents contacted police.

The man is described as being in his 30s, dark complexion, dark hair, moustache, and was wearing a black nylon windbreaker.

His vehicle is described as a red four-door car, no hubcaps, silver and gold trim with rust around the outer edges. A large hockey bag with wheels was observed in the back seat.

A small brown and white dog was also seen inside the vehicle.
