Brandon Police Wake Sleeping Man to Find Weapons, Drugs

Brandon Police Service CrestBrandon police woke up a sleeping man in a parking lot Tuesday to find weapons and a quantity of drugs.

An employee called police at around 8 a.m. to report a man was sleeping in a vehicle in the parking lot of the 2600 block of Victoria Avenue.

Police found a hunting rifle and ammunition in the vehicle, as well as a homemade Taser, a collapsible baton, methamphetamine, a small amount of cocaine and cash.

A 36-year-old Brandon was taken into custody and faces several charges.

He was to appear in court on Wednesday.
