More than 90 artists make up the first batch of musicians announced for the 2018 TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival.
Organizers on Thursday unveiled the list of talent that music fans can look forward to this summer, June 14-24.
“I’m tremendously excited about our 2018 festival. We’ve got some really great music lined up for you, and these first 5 acts represent a beautiful cross-section of the diverse and creative artists we’ve got coming,” said artistic director Michael Falk.
Among the highlights are three-time GRAMMY Award winners The Flaming Lips. They join fellow GRAMMY winner, American trumpeter Chris Botti, along with Daniel Caesar, Tune-Yards and Jill Barber, to name a few.
The TD Winnipeg International Jazz festival will include free programming in Old Market Square and more than 20 shows in local theatres and clus. Jazz Winnipeg will be announcing more headliners later this month and will celebrate their local lineup during a party in April.
Subscribers to Jazz Winnipeg’s newsletter will receive presale access to tickets on Friday, March 2 at 10 am. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Saturday, March 3 at 10 am.
Tickets are available at the Jazz Winnipeg Office at 100 Arthur Street during business hours, at jazzwinnipeg.com, or by calling (204) 989-4656. Tickets for Burton Cummings Theatre Shows will also be available through Ticketmaster.
