Winnipeg cyclists can take advantage of the city’s Sunday/holiday bicycle routes beginning tomorrow.

Until October 8, four streets are designated as routes for cyclists from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. During this time, motor vehicle traffic will be restricted to a distance of not more than one block.

Sunday/holiday bike routes

  • Lyndale Drive – Cromwell Street to Gauvin Street
  • Scotia Street – Anderson Avenue (at St. Cross Street) to Armstrong Avenue
  • Wellington Crescent – Academy Road (at Wellington Crescent) to Guelph Street
  • Wolseley Avenue – Raglan Road to Maryland Street

Motorists will see signs posted as they approached the above roadways. Barricades will be placed at the beginning and end of the routes to remind motorists that vehicle through-traffic is limited to one block on these routes. Driving on the routes longer than permitted may result in a fine.
