A Brandon man who crashed his vehicle into a wooden guardrail while travelling the wrong way down a one-way street is facing several charges.
An off-duty Brandon police officer nabbed the man on Tuesday morning as officers tried to get him to stop. The driver eventually crashed the vehicle in the 500 block of Lorne Avenue and fled on foot.
That’s when the off-duty cop, who happened to be in the area, chased him down.
A 28-year-old man has been charged with flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, and driving while disqualified. He was also detained on two outstanding arrest warrants for court order breaches and possession of property obtained by crime.
He was to appear in Brandon court today.
