The boss of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ is leaving to take on new challenges this fall.

CEO Stefano Grande has announced he will be leaving the BIZ in mid-September to fill the role of president and CEO of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.

Grande has led the BIZ for the past 14 years, championing a more vibrant and sustainable downtown.

“I have been blessed and no words can express how much I will miss working with the board and my staff, and I am humbled by the energetic and dedicated team who have followed me on my journey to help transform our downtown into this livable, sustainable and vibrant place which we have all aspired too,” Grande said in a statement.

The BIZ will begin its search for a new CEO and Grande will remain on board until then to allow for a smooth transition.

Gary Rozak will continue to serve as interim president and CEO with the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba until mid-September.
