
The Moose kick off the 2018-19 home schedule on Friday, Oct. 12 against the Belleville Senators. Fans can help get the campaign going with a bang, thanks to light-up thundersticks which will be provided to the first 6,000 fans to enter Bell MTS Place.
Fan favourite giveaways making a return for the upcoming season include two Mini Bobbleheads on Jan. 19 and April 6 and Upper Deck Hockey Cards on March 17. Returning themes for 2018-19 include Star Wars Day on Jan. 20, Superhero Day on Feb. 18 and the Holiday Game on Dec. 22, featuring a snowglobe giveaway. Community initiatives presented by Red River Co-op make their return, including: Share the Warmth on Nov. 3, Teddy Bear Toss on Dec. 15, Shutout Hunger on Dec. 31 and Autism Awareness Night on March 9.
In addition to the returning community initiatives, the Moose will add three awareness nights to the schedule for 2018-19. Bell MTS Place will host Pride Day in support of the Rainbow Resource Centre on Oct. 21, Hockey Fights Cancer Day on Nov. 24, and This is Hockey: Follow Your Dreams Day on Feb. 17. The biggest New Year’s Eve party in Winnipeg returns to Bell MTS Place on Dec. 31 when the Moose host the American Hockey League’s newest franchise, the Colorado Eagles, at 4 p.m.
New theme nights hitting Bell MTS Place this season include:
- Video Game Night (Nov. 3)
- Military Appreciation Night (Jan. 12)
- Grassroots Hockey Day (Jan. 19)
- Multicultural Night (Feb. 9)
- Country Music Day (April 6)
The 2018-19 campaign sees the squad don four specialty jerseys. New for this season, the Moose salute the Canadian military with a Military Appreciation Jersey on Jan. 12. Three concepts return with all-new looks including the nostalgic Retro Jersey on Nov. 10, wild Polar Bear Jersey on Feb. 10, and unique Autism Awareness Jersey on March 9.
