The Pembina Trail Library in south Winnipeg welcomed back book lovers for the first time on Monday, following an extensive renovation.
The library at 2724 Pembina Highway originally closed May 5 and now includes an upgraded entrance, universally accessible washrooms, and improved shelving and collections layout.
Other improvements include new paint, flooring, furniture, service desks and a new 24/7 location for the book return.
Cyclists will also notice a new bike rack and tool hub with an air pump.
The city spent $294,245 to spruce up the 30-year-old library.
