Winnipeg Police Logo CrestWINNIPEG — Two people were arrested Friday in separate incidents involving stolen vehicles that crashed into a wall and another into two homes.

The first incident happened at around 3 p.m. in the area of Pinewood Drive and Assiniboine Crescent, when a car collided with a brick wall near the Moray Bridge.

A man driving the vehicle immediately fled, but dropped personal property on the scene that identified him.

The vehicle in question was heavily damaged and was determined to have been recently stolen from a nearby hotel.

The suspect later returned to the scene and was arrested.

Emile Mario Freunt of Winnipeg, 32, has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

At around 9 p.m. the same day, a stolen vehicle crashed into two houses in the 600 block of Talbot Avenue.

Witnesses told police that a woman got out and fled the area.

One home was unoccupied at the time, while no injuries were reported to the occupants of the other home.

The vehicle was later found to have been stolen from the Fort Frances, Ontario on April 30.

The 26-year-old Winnipeg woman was tracked by the K9 unit to the 500 block of Herbert Avenue and taken into custody. She faces several charges and is being treated for her injuries in hospital.
