Winnipeg Police Investigating Three Homicides in One Night

Winnipeg Police Logo CrestWinnipeg police are investigating three homicides in two separate incidents overnight.

Two people were stabbed at a Halloween party in the 100 block of Kinver Avenue at around 10:45 p.m. Saturday.

Both victims were taken to hospital in critical condition, where a 14-year-old girl later succumbed to her injuries. An 18-year-old woman was upgraded to stable.

At 2:30 a.m. Sunday, two men were reported suffering from upper-body injuries in a rear lane on Ross Avenue at Isabel Street.

Both of the victims were taken to hospital in critical condition and succumbed to their injuries.

No charges have been laid in either case, although Const. Rob Carver says some people from the Halloween party have been detained.

The deaths bring the total number of homicides in Winnipeg to 36 for 2019.
