CF Polo Park Shopping Centre (TOURISM WINNIPEG FILE)
WINNIPEG — Two men were stabbed inside CF Polo Park Shopping Centre on Tuesday in an unprovoked attack.
Winnipeg police were called to the Portage Avenue mall just before 4 p.m. after the men, aged 46 and 48, were stabbed in their upper bodies.
Police say the suspect approached and attacked the two victims, who were sitting on a bench in the mall.
Officers arrived to find the suspect behind restrained by both the victims and mall security. They also seized two knives as evidence.
Both victims were transported to hospital in stable condition and treated for their injuries.
A 20-year-old Winnipeg man is facing multiple charges, including failing to comply with the conditions of a release order.
He was released from custody pending a court appearance.
